MOGNO Beamline and Applications in Porous Materials

The MOGNO beamline at the SIRIUS synchrotron is designed to enable fast, high-resolution 3D and 4D imaging using multiscale X-ray micro- and nanotomography.  Its optical layout and flexible operation modes allow users to probe materials across a wide range of length scales, combining submicrometric spatial resolution with large fields of view and enabling fast acquisition for time-resolved 4D imaging.
Porous materials benefit significantly from these capabilities, as their performance often depends on complex, multiscale pore networks. MOGNO enables detailed characterization of pore morphology, connectivity, and transport-relevant features across micro- and nanometric domains. Applications include studies in catalysis, energy materials, geology, construction materials, and filtration media. By integrating advanced imaging modalities with robust reconstruction and analysis tools, MOGNO provides a powerful platform for unveiling structure–property relationships in porous systems.
